Want to win an Apple iPad that I’ll be picking up at the Apple Store on April 3rd?
Sign up here by providing your name, email, age, and institution/company name. Get extra chances to win when you refer your friends – just fill in their name and email.
The iPad is going to be like a combination iPhone/Kindle/laptop – all in one. I’m going to drive over to the Apple store on April 3rd, pull out a wad of cash to buy the one I reserved, then send it off to the contest winner (maybe you?). I won’t even open up the box.
The rules are simple (but if you want the technical version, you can click here for “official rules”). Just give me your name, email, age, and institution/company, and that gives you one entry in the contest.
If you get your friends to join, for each one that joins, you get another entry. The winner will be chosen at random from all the entries. You can only submit a maximum of 3 friends’ names/emails per every 12 hour period (I did this to avoid spamming – I will ban any IP addresses that are attempting to use this for spam).
Your friends should be affiliated with a career in science in order to count as entries for you (they can still enter, but you won’t get any credit).
I reserve the right to disqualify any entries at my sole discretion – so don’t spam, don’t invite a bunch of non scientists and expect to get credit for them, and don’t try to use your other 10 email addresses to invite yourself. If I see you gaming the system, I may disqualify all of your entries at my sole discretion, and you will have no recourse.
Bottom line: the person who has invited the most legitimate science-type friends and colleagues to join the contest, has the highest probability of winning.
But even if you just join for yourself, it is better than not joining, right?
The winner will be chosen at random from all valid entries received. The winner will be notified by email, and must respond within 3 days, or an alternative random winner will be chosen. The winner must agree to provide a photo and his/her name and institution for use on my website(s) for promotional purposes.
