It’s called the “shiny object syndrome.” Distractions bombard us all day long, from many sources. They take us off track (my new iPad is as an example). And sadly, very few adults define their goals and targets clearly (scientists included), which means that it is easier than ever to get off track. As an analogy, if you set out sailing across the ocean without a clear idea of your destination, what would happen? You might see some nice sights along the way, or you might get caught in a horrendous storm. Basically, your boat will be subject to the whims of the weather and the conditions. You don’t know where you’ll end up, it could be great (Hawaii), or it could be awful, and you’d have little say in the matter. Life is like that. Without clear targets, you don’t know where you’ll end up, but probably it won’t be your dream life. So define your targets, and stick to them! The best tool Morgan has found for this is Simpleology (https://tinyurl.com/yejda3j), but it doesn’t matter what tool you use, as long as you do it!
